Harsh designation does it? Yes, it does a little bit harsh but I think I have to voice it. In fact, I have already banged the whole first years’ architecture class about it. It is my responsibility as the Class Representative. Why? Well, it is an accumulation of a few minor yet significant incidents that happened since the very first week (ok, second week) we, the would-be architects (Insya-Allah) started to have classes. Among the most notable events was when this one particular student turned up late for the Building Construction class. Its quite normal to turn up late (since everyone doesn’t have enough sleep night by night due to our enormous amount of projects and tasks) but the one thing that got into my nerves was when I checked the attendance form, someone had already signed for him! That time, I just kept quite about it hoping that it won’t happen again. Guess what, it did happen again the next week. This time, not one or two, it was five! Of which made it quite obvious to the lecture, Pn. Sri Datin Seri Nila Inangda. A woman of experience she is. She can tell whether the class is full or not just by a glance. Really! There was this studio class when she entered the door and promptly says that there were 3 absentees. And yup, she was correct. Moments later 3 girls emerged. Ok, back to the story. I noticed that the signatures on the list were full (and identical) although after counting the students again, 5 were absent. “Damn, sure enough Pn. Sri will notice it”. And yup, sure she did. I was asked to the office twice. And this time, I cant hold it no more. I was (and still) so discontent to know such immoral people exist in my class.
It does stop. I hope the fraud wont ever happened again. “Waaa, Fuqaha, you garang la tadi.. terbangun saya dari tidur”, says Mei Ting. “Haha.. Lelaki yang hebat ade mase keras, ade mase lembut”, I replied (quoting a famous saying by Mr. Rauhi, the Malay College Principal).
Weekly Project [Double Cube]Creating a space out of two interlocking cubes. Again, as if a weekly must-do thing; I stayed up at the studio last night, so busy mending my cube for the presentation today. I made it with utmost concentration and the clock just ticks by. I went back to my room this morning at 7:00 am. And set my phone to ring at 9:00am (only to wake up at 10:30 am!). haha.. I rushed to the studio and that afternoon, I was with high hope to be chosen to take the stage and start BS-ing. (BS:bullshitting). Nope, mine was not among the few qualified models.
