Of Projects
Exactly twenty tasks. A feat considering that it is barely entering the fourth week here. I am proud, and tired. Nonetheless my hearts desire is fulfilled.
The most crucial (and surely grueling) tasks are the 3 prime projects which will directly reflect my final exam marks (telling the truth, we don’t have any exam). It is a 100% continuous assessment, you know. So, out of the three projects, how do I feel? 7 over 10 I guess. Not too satisfying. Why? Because of the three, only the last one (the Hybrid Project – a fusion of both linear and planar element) catches the lecturers’ eyes whereas the other two were simply in conflict to the foremost requirement. The model HAS to be 20 x 20 x 20 cm. For my first project (the Linear element), it was just too small (around 12 x 12 x 12 cm) and contradicts the subsequent Planar Project. As for the planar one, the one mistake that I made was the roof was simply out of the boundary. Excerpts of the lecturers’ comments…
The class giggled. Such an embarrassing moment it was to me. Sure it did. The Class Representatives’ model was being used to show the rest what they got to avoid! Haha.. =) But having only one right out of three will make 3.33 over 10 right? Why do I deem 7 out of 10? Give the credits to my third project (the Hybrid Element). I am soo proud of it. And to have two prior failures shows how well I am adapting and progressing. I get the idea from the Glasgows’ School of Arts’ primary building. I found a plan of the building over the internet and I try to deconstruct (an excerpt again.. by Mr. Asrul “, And Fuqaha also introduce us a new term, Deconstructive Development.” ) and also adding a few new elements (which is Linear and Primary Planar). I also learnt over the internet on how to draw perspectives EASILY ! Yup, right.. EASILY ! Click this link . I am fulfilled. Tho’ the time taken was enormous, (spent the night at the studio, and went back to my room just for shower) the only thing I can say is “Worth it”. True as she says, we did met only after two years of knowing each other. Friday, August 4, 2006. I had a Kemahiran Maklumat class at the Main Library and being messaged by her mom that she is visiting me. I was shocked actually to see her coming with Jannah. - I am a really shy boy at times. Hehe.. We later filled up our aching stomach (my tummy is always singing, no matter how much I eat) at the PJ KFC. As I say before, I was then malu-malu kucing. Betol la. The situation was like having to talk with a glued tongue. I was only staring at her not knowing what to say or do.
